As the owner of the brand at Overstock, I recognized the importance of having a clear and consistent brand image in all of our communications with both customers and vendors. However, prior to the 2021 update of our Brand Standards document, there was a lack of ownership and guidance, leading to multiple interpretations and variations of the brand.
In my new role, it became top priority to officially update and establish a company-wide style guide, accounting for any changes made since the last update in 2017. Through my leadership, I created a user-friendly and accessible Brand Standards portal on our company SharePoint, which served as a central hub for all brand guidelines, templates, and customer research.
Using my expertise in Adobe InDesign, I developed a comprehensive and visually appealing document that was easily adopted by the organization. The document ensured brand consistency across all departments and improved communication with third party vendors, resulting in a streamlined and professional brand image.
Having established a strong foundation for our brand standards, I remain committed to continuously improving and strengthening our brand to ensure that it is always recognized and trusted by our customers.
